It might not surprise you that we lean towards restaurants as one of the best options suited to many people when looking to stage a fully catered private event.
Booking out our private restaurant for sole use is becoming increasingly popular for many different types of events – especially as we have two different dedicated function spaces for venue hire. We’ve held media launches, business lunches, private celebrations, many many weddings, and hosted special culinary events open to the public. But we don’t pretend to be perfect for everyone. If there’s an event we feel might be better suited to another venue we will say so, or we may also refer to our sister company, Moda Events Portside, in Hamilton – one of Brisbane’s most celebrated premium event venues. What kind of event are you hosting?
Big conferences obviously need to size and space to be held at a conference centre with a theatre like set up. However for smaller corporate events like training days, business meeting (with delicious food) and other boardroom style set ups, our wine room function room with projector, white board, different seating configurations and other equipment included – Moda Restaurant can add a welcome alternative to the typical sterile corporate meeting spaces. And don’t even get us started on the difference in the food!
Does it have the ‘Wow’ Factor?
So many events venues are devoid of any kind of character or style. You could be anywhere as you look at the drab and dated, curtains, carpets, and notice a distinct lack of natural light. Not at Moda Restaurant – our Spanish inspired décor, inviting lighting, and Romanesque courtyard, plus
polished wooden floorboards in our mezzanine level lounge, ensure that there’s plenty to look to inspire an occasion to remember.
Is it conveniently located?
For many events location matters a lot. Especially when people are travelling to get there. This is why the convenient CBD location of Moda Restaurant on Edward Street is ideal for people travelling from interstate or from different corners of the city – or the Gold or Sunshine Coasts. Some events work well in the suburbs – but a celebration in the CBD just feels, a little, well… more sophisticated. Chances are it’s going to be more convenient for more of your guests – especially if it’s a work-related get together.
How many guests are you entertaining?
The number of guests determines the space you need. Guests should never be packed in, nor should a smaller event be in a venue which feels too large – it will quickly kill the atmosphere.
Moda Restaurant can accommodate the majority of group sizes for private functions, birthday bashes, weddings as well as corporate events. However for large scale conferences, and Big Fat Greek Weddings for 150 plus, an event centre might be more suited.
